Account Management

Summary: This is a full-time position for the summer months, working with a Director and an account team to service client accounts and begin to build relationships with the clients, vendors, and other internal and external resources. The position requires day-to-day account management for a specific set of clients and entails a great deal of verbal, electronic, and other written communications. Intern will be responsible to complete a project at the direction of their supervisor and present their findings at the end of the program.

Brand & Social Media

Summary: Social media plays a significant role in showcasing the NFP brand, engaging with their audience and staying competitive in the digital landscape. This intern will contribute fresh perspectives, increase platform activity and engagement, and allow NFP’s experienced marketing professionals to focus on more strategic and complex aspects of their roles. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of social media marketing and contribute to the growth and visibility of the NFP brand. You will work closely with the marketing and brand teams, learning and implementing strategies to engage NFP audiences across various platforms.

Business Development

Summary: NFP is seeking a bright and energetic individual to become an integral part of their team and assist their producers with business development activities. NFP’s 10-week Summer Intern Program is designed to provide students a challenging, meaningful, and supportive experience. The Summer Intern orientation offers a thorough overview of the company and the opportunity to learn from several senior leaders. The Summer Intern Program also includes challenges, mentoring, philanthropic, and networking opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, qualify, and develop new business opportunities through inbound and outbound marketing activities

Consultant

Summary: This position is for the summer months and requires a minimum of 25-30 hours per week. The successful candidate will work with an expert team that partners with clients to design, implement, and manage their employee benefit programs. Strong project management skills, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) are the key skills that a successful associate consultant should possess. The intern will be responsible to complete a project at the direction of their supervisor and present their findings at the end of the internship.

Location: Warrington, PA

This is a hybrid position with in-office flexibility 2-3 days a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating the implementation and day-to-day administration of all employee benefit products, including medical, prescription, dental, vision, basic life insurance, supplemental life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, worksite wellness, and voluntary/worksite benefit offerings
  • Assisting with the preparation and peer review of client reports
  • Assisting with the preparation and coordination of Requests for Proposals; including analyzing and spread-sheeting results
  • Resolving claims, billing, and other service issues
  • Reviewing carrier materials (contracts, benefit summaries, SBCs) for accuracy
  • Assisting in the development and preparation of client reports and presentations

Finance & Accounting Intern

Summary: This position is a shared resource between NFP’s FP&A and Operations Group and will report to the Vice President of FP&A.

Locations: Pleasant Hill, CA, Mesa, AZ

This is a hybrid position with in-office flexibility a few days a week. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support strategic business decision-making through financial modeling and analysis, including ad-hoc modeling and analysis
  • Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for G&A Functions, including development of financial metric models, department specific budgets, and related KPI analysis
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts for the business assessing risks and opportunities in actual results vs. forecasts
  • Prepare and automate monthly and quarterly financial reporting, budget, and forecast to understand performance drivers
  • Identify variances to budget and analyze contributing factors
  • Review internal and external agreements, audit systems for accuracy of commission payments, ensure systems align with intended language and intent of agreements
  • Review and audit Strategic Ledger Values that are key identifiers for specific revenue driven events

Health Actuarial

Summary: The primary responsibilities of the Health Actuarial Intern will be to work with Excel workbooks under close scrutiny and review by supervisor for the following projects:

  • IBNR Reports
  • Self-insured Rate Equivalent calculations
  • COBRA rate equivalent calculations

The intern will have the opportunity to attend regular meetings with the Benefits team as well as staff meetings and training with interns from other departments. The position is flexible between remote and in-office work.

Summary: The Human Resources Intern will spend 10 weeks working on assignments with exposure to different functions of HR, such as Talent Management, Talent Development, and Benefits. Through this internship you will work on meaningful projects supporting initiatives that are designed to give you essential business insights and hands-on experience.

Internal Audit

Summary: Internal audit is an independent, objective assurance and consulting function designed to add value and improve an organization’s operations. It helps an organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

During your internship at NFP, you will be exposed to audit procedures mainly in the area of expense analysis and also cash, receivables, and payables. You will work closely with staff and managers on their day-to-day tasks, audit projects, and any ad hoc requests that may come up. You will obtain an understanding of various audit/analytic approaches and methods and have a hands-on experience on how these approaches are executed and documented. You will also have an opportunity to interact with different levels of management as a member of the engagement team. Additionally, you will have a chance to be involved in office community activities and build lasting relationships with members of the NFP team.

Marketing

Summary: NFP is looking for a highly motivated intern to work on the West Region Field Marketing team within NFP’s marketing department, responsible for driving marketing initiatives and targeted campaigns at the regional level. NFP connects marketing and sales together to achieve regional sales objectives. You’ll help manage field marketing activities, such as events and tradeshows, brand awareness campaigns, content, creative assets, and digital.

Location: Lehi, UT

This is a hybrid position with in-office flexibility 3-4 days a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Marketing support for sponsorships, tradeshows, and client events
  • Managing local office pages on nfp.com including content creation
  • Client and internal email communications
  • Copy editing your own work as well as that of other writers
  • Work within established brand-compliant templates for content layout (sales sheets, white papers, PowerPoint presentations etc.)

      Summary: As a Project Management intern, you will gain exposure to how to initiate plans, set budgets, track project activities, communicate achievements to business partners, work with mid to large-sized projects, and recommend techniques and practices that ensure business goals.

      • Understand business initiatives, strategic plans, and platform architecture to influence project execution

      • Learn how to screen resumes for various open positions
      • Handle all administrative functions for regional recruiters, including scheduling and confirming phone screens, digital interviews and office interviews, and candidate assessments
      • Support/Participate in projects that enhance client experience and/or increase efficiency of the recruitment process/offering
      • Assist with the coordination of hiring events and the summer intern program
