2023 Internship Opportunities (must graduate between December 2023 and July 2024)

SOFTWARE ENGINEER INTERN

Role Overview:

As a Software Engineer intern, you will learn what it means to be an engineer in a real-world environment. The internship program is focused on enhancing your knowledge of algorithm complexity, data structures, and writing fluent code. It also encompasses knowledge building of IMC’s business model and building relationships across its trading and technology teams. As a Software Engineer intern at IMC, you will be supported by both a mentor and an intern lead who will oversee your projects and professional development. You will have access to classroom sessions, pair programming and code reviews, and social activities and events.

What IMC is Looking For:

  • Student in penultimate year of Software Engineering or Computer Science related degree with a current GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must have strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Strong analytical skills and desire to solve complicated problems programmatically
  • Must have proficient experience in a programming language (Java or C++ preferred)
  • Willingness to interact and work closely with non-engineers in a constantly changing environment
  • Interest in the financial markets; previous knowledge is NOT required

QUANT TRADER INTERN

Role Overview:

The internship program is focused on enhancing your knowledge of options theory, market making, algorithm complexity, and trades analysis. Your responsibility does not stop at pure knowledge acquisition; you’ll also have the opportunity to work on a trading project that has real impact to IMC’s trading strategies. As a Quant Trader intern within IMC, you will be supported by both a mentor and an intern lead who will oversee your projects and professional development. You will have access to classroom theory sessions, mock trading and desk rotations, and social activities and events.

What IMC is Looking For:

  • Students who will be in their penultimate year during summer 2023 studying an analytical/quantitative or related field of study
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Experience with programming in Python is a strong advantage
  • Interest in financial markets is a must, but no prior knowledge or experience required
  • Superb analytical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-moving and competitive environment
  • Desire to work in a team environment is a must

HARDWARE ENGINEER INTERN

Role Overview:

As a Hardware Engineer intern, you will learn what it means to be an engineer in a real- world environment. The internship program is focused on enhancing your knowledge of algorithm complexity, professional design, and writing fluent code. Your responsibility does not stop at programming; it also encompasses knowledge building of IMC’s business model and building relationships across its trading and technology teams. As a Hardware Engineer intern at IMC, you will be supported by both a mentor and an intern lead who will oversee your projects and professional development. You will have access to classroom sessions, pair programming and code reviews, and social activities and events.

What IMC is Looking For:

  • Student in penultimate year studying Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with a current GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong analytical skills and desire to solve complicated problems programmatically
  • Must have proficient experience in Verilog or VHDL, or other RTL programming (additional software experience is a plus; Java, C++, or similar)
  • Willingness to interact and work closely with non-engineers in a constantly changing environment
  • Interest in the financial markets; previous knowledge is NOT required
