2023 Full-Time Opportunities (must graduate anytime on or before July 2023)

GRADUATE SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Role Overview:

You will be responsible for spotting new opportunities, developing new technologies, and solving problems. As a result, your development skills will enable you to actually deliver results and make a difference. IMC knows that having the best software is what drives its business. Software development at IMC is innovative, pragmatic, and fun, even as complexity grows. IMC is looking for talented Software Engineers who will drive the development of cutting-edge trading algorithms to further its business.

What IMC is Looking For:

  • BA/BSc/MA/MSc in Engineering, Computer Science with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Strong analytical skills and desire to solve complicated problems programmatically
  • Must have strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Must have proficient experience in a programming language (Java or C++ preferred)
  • Willingness to interact and work closely with non-engineers in a constantly changing environment
  • Interest in the financial markets; previous knowledge is NOT required

GRADUATE QUANT TRADER

Role Overview:

Your IMC journey begins with a seven-week global trading traineeship led by IMC’s seasoned traders and technologist, during which you’ll link up with graduates from all three IMC regions. You’ll then continue your training in your local office for a further two months before joining a desk that matches your specific background and strengths. As a Graduate Trader at IMC, you will trade a wide range of financial instruments, develop, maintain, and improve trading strategies and algorithms, manage the execution and risk of complex trading portfolios, work closely with IMC’s technology developers and engineers, and have the support of your very own mentor.

What IMC is Looking For:

  • Superior analytical skills
  • Genuine interest in financial markets, though no prior knowledge or experience is required
  • A team player
  • Experience in a programming language (e.g. Python, Matlab, or R) is an advantage
  • Academic background in a quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Physics, or Econometrics)
  • Must be available for full-time employment in 2023 (available start dates in February and August 2023)

GRADUATE HARDWARE ENGINEER 

Role Overview:

As a Hardware Engineer, you will learn what it means to be an engineer in a real-world environment. The program is focused on enhancing your knowledge of algorithm complexity, professional design, and writing fluent code. Your responsibility does not stop at programming; it also encompasses knowledge building of IMC’s business model and building relationships across IMC’s trading and technology teams. As a Hardware Engineer at IMC, you will be supported by both a mentor and a lead who will oversee your projects and professional development. You will have access to classroom sessions, pair programming and code reviews, and social activities and events.

What IMC is Looking For:

  • Student in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with a current GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong analytical skills and desire to solve complicated problems programmatically
  • Must have proficient experience in Verilog or VHDL, or other RTL programming (additional software experience is a plus; Java, C++, or similar)
  • Willingness to interact and work closely with non-engineers in a constantly changing environment
  • Interest in the financial markets; previous knowledge is NOT required
