First Gen Focus Program

  • The First-Gen Focus program is an 8-week virtual program for incoming freshmen and sophomore students. The program is designed to offer the opportunity for professional and personal development within Capital One’s 3 core program pillars: Financial Well-being, Personal Wellness, and Career Readiness & Persistence. The program is also designed to build a pathway to careers and other Capital One offerings like internships, summits, and full-time programs.
  • Program Duration: 8 weeks (May 28-July 17, 2025)
    • Students have two different time/day options to choose from
  • Voluntary events include game nights, study sessions, and office hours
  • Program Components
    • Financial literacy
    • Professional development
    • Mindfulness
    • Coding and Casing exposure
    • Capital One Career Journey sessions
    • Mentorship program

First Gen Focus Program Candidate Profile 

  • Enrolled in a 4-year College or University
  • Freshman or sophomore student
  • First Generation
  • 18+
  • 3.0 or higher
  • STEM majors strongly encouraged to apply
