Investment (Product/Data Analytics)

Description: This intern role is within the group responsible for the development, management, and promotion of the entire investment product lineup of Hartford Funds. The position will provide exposure to performance measurement and assessment, asset allocation, product lifecycle, and competitive positioning disciplines. The ideal candidate should have the desire to learn about the investment management industry, specifically Mutual Funds and ETFs through the lens of data and data analytics.

Responsibilities of the Role:

• Perform data analysis using industry aggregator tools such as Morningstar and Lipper to create reports and visualizations to help facilitate research and analysis of performance, portfolio characteristics, peers, and competitors
• Assist in the development of business operational improvements through a keen understanding of quality control and quality assurance
• Use understanding of product measures and technical insights to work with team on further developing Data Warehouse with additional data feeds and improvements through Snowflake
• Leverage Snowflake to develop strategies for business solutions
• Work with team on further development of SharePoint site which serves as a reference library and content catalog for internal end-users
• Participate in and observe department meetings around due diligence, research topics, and data analytics.

Qualifications: 

• Must be currently enrolled in college as a Business/Finance/Economics/Math major or Computer/Data Science
• Proficiency in Excel required; ability to acquire skills prior to start of internship may be considered
• Ability to multi-task, manage time efficiently, and work independently with minimal direction and supervision
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and ability to think both from a business and technology standpoint
• Experience with SQL-based databases (Snowflake is a plus)

Investment (Product Communications and RFPs)

Description: This intern role is within the group responsible for the development, management, and promotion of the entire investment product lineup of Hartford Funds. The position will provide exposure to content development for new and existing investment products, including requests for proposal (RFPs), marketing materials, and consultant database narratives.

Responsibilities of the Role:

• Update product content (including sample proposals, fund summaries, pitchbooks) in a timely fashion to reflect changes to a product’s team, philosophy, and process
• Participate in department meetings around RFP responses and content development
• Work with team on further development of consultant database narratives and responses
• Participate in product development and product enhancement projects as they pertain to RFP team deliverables
• Assist in creating materials for product training sessions

Description: This internship is within the group responsible for supporting the distribution teams from an investment analytics and sales support perspective. The student will play a key role in collaborating with Investment, Sales, Compliance, and Marketing professionals by utilizing various tools to assist in the research and delivery of content across the entire product lineup of Hartford Funds. Description: This internship will provide the opportunity for a student to play a key role in the marketing department by utilizing marketing technology and collaborating with marketing team members in areas such as research, content creation, analytics, and communication.

 Responsibilities of the Role:

• Assist in digital marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, email, web, podcast)
