Jaclynn Brennan is the Founder and CEO of Creative Duality and the Co-Founder of Fyli female master-mind. She is a Creative Executive that coined the term creative duality—the ability to strategize and explore new frontiers using conceptual thinking, which allows her to embrace originality and make the connection between business and branding.
Here is what Jaclynn had to say when we asked her about the power of fashion:
GenHERation®: How do you define fashion?
Jaclynn Brennan: Fashion is what we are offered two times a year by designers, and style is how we choose to interpret it. Fashion to me has always been about self-expression. I always implement fashion in my everyday life no matter where I am, the occasion, or what I am doing. I strongly believe that you always want to present the best version of yourself to people by looking the best you can. I loved fashion from such an early age because it allowed me to play dress-up and find new ways to cultivate my personal style and how I wanted to connect with others through my appearance.
GenHERation®: How can you use fashion as a means to express yourself?
Brennan: Fashion helps you express and define your own personal identity. I love to wear pieces that are bright and colorful, it gives hints of my personality that captures my playfulness and optimism. Some days you might be feeling dark and introverted, and you can surely see that in a style expression—other days you might want to be bold and eclectic. Style can help define your mood and other people’s perception of you.
GenHERation®: How should you dress for an interview?
Brennan: Make sure you are appropriate for the situation, be comfortable, and stay true to yourself. I don’t like fitting in other people’s “boxes” just to look like everyone else. It’s okay to add a bit of your personality when dressing for an interview. As long as you are appropriate, respectful, and authentic your light will shine!
