According to a new study from the Pew Research Center, an unprecedented number of children under the age of 12 are migrating illegally into the United States alone. The report found that there was a 117% increase in illegal unaccompanied child immigration just over the past eight months (when compared to the entire 2013 fiscal year.) The bulk of unaccompanied minors that are caught by Border Control are still teenagers (85% are teens.) The total number of apprehensions of minors has not increased this year, though the number of unaccompanied minors has.
