Tech: Who Runs the World? Netflix

And just like that, Netflix is one step closer to ruling the world. On Tuesday, the video-loving superpower announced that starting next year, it will be available in four new countries: South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. “The combination of increasing Internet speeds and ubiquity of connected devices provides consumers with the anytime, anywhere ability to enjoy their favorite TV shows and movies on the Netflix service,” said Netflix CEO Reed Hastings in a statement.”  These four markets well represent those trends.” Though Netflix shares doubled over the past year, shares have seen major dips in recent weeks. Time will tell how this most recent announcement will affect shareholder’s stocks.

I think Netflix may catch on in these countries considering that there may not be many other online sites that are like Netflix.Although considering that these are Asian countries they should have more content that appeal to people in these countries (yay I can watch more korean dramas).
