There’s nothing like having someone to celebrate with, and if you don’t have someone, maybe something? Meet MOTI, the instant gratification device that may help you achieve your dreams and form new habits. “The problem with most habits is delayed gratification,” Kayla Matheus, the 25-year-old creator of MOTI, told the press.”MOTI celebrates with you.” MOTI is a small, desk-size gadget that rewards owners by vibrating and lighting up when its “face” is tapped. MOTI can help keep people on track by offering immediate encouragement in a way that delayed gratification cannot. Perhaps most importantly, if it sits on a desk or a shelf, it is impossible to ignore. “We react to it like we’re being watched. Hopefully not in a creepy way,” Matheus said. MOTI is not yet available to consumers, but three prototypes are currently in the works.
