Southwest Airlines Gratitude, or SWAG, is a tool for Southwest Airlines Employees where all recognition programs and experiences are stored. Each Southwest Employee has a unique profile in the tool where they can send recognition to others, see the recognition they have received, and earn and spend SWAG Points. Some Southwest recognition and incentive programs will reward Employees with SWAG Points. SWAG Points give Employees the freedom to choose from thousands of items in the SWAG Shop, including Guest Passes, Rapid Rewards® Points, gift cards, merchandise, and event tickets. There are many ways Employees can receive recognition—from each other, from department Leaders, from our Customers, and from Southwest Airlines. Southwest wants to reward Employees in a way that is meaningful to each individual Employee – and SWAG Points give Employees the freedom to choose how they want to be rewarded.
How to Earn SWAG Points
There are many ways that Southwest Employees can receive points through recognition and incentive programs. The largest earning opportunity is through the Perfect Attendance Program. Employees of Southwest Airlines can earn 3,600 SWAG Points for every month that they achieve perfect attendance. The thank you alone is valued at Southwest.
How to Redeem SWAG Points
SWAG Points can be redeemed in the SWAG Shop at any time. In the SWAG Shop, Employees can shop for Guest Passes, Rapid Rewards Points, merchandise, gift cards, and event tickets. SWAG points do not expire.

Southwest Airlines Gratitude (SWAG) Points
At Southwest Airlines gratitude is a way of life. We make it easy for Employees to see all of the ways we recognize them in an online recognition platform we call SWAG—Southwest Airlines Gratitude. Employees can send recognition to each other with internal thank you notes we call “Kick Tails,” they can receive recognition from local Leadership all the way up to our CEO, and we even invite Customers to give out Kick Tails to our Employees on the ground or in the air. Our Employees can earn SWAG Points through some of our recognition and incentive programs and turn them into further rewards like Guest Passes for friends and family, Rapid Rewards® Points, merchandise, gift cards, or event tickets.
Points to Consider
- The majority of Southwest’s workforce is remotely located
- The Southwest workforce is spread throughout the country and in differing time zones
- Email is not accessible for most of the workforce for the majority of their workday
- Communication channels available include social media, email, digital signs, word of mouth, and corporate intranet posts.
