The White House in partnership with Michelle Obama, the Peace Corps, and United States Agency for International Development has launched a new initiative called Let Girls Learn. Globally, 62 million girls are not in school, and many more are fighting to stay in school. This new initiative by the U.S. government hopes to break the cycle of poverty to get that 62 million to zero. Let Girls Learn started as a program by the USAID and it is expected to expand across different branches of government with the support of the White House. The Peace Corps will do its part by recruiting new volunteers focusing on teen girls access to education. They have also partnered with other organizations such as Girl Up, Girl Rising, and the Girl Scouts.
