Politics: Hillary Clinton to Appear on “Ellen”

In an effort to make Hillary Clinton more favorable with voters—especially women—the Democratic presidential hopeful will appear for an interview on Ellen DeGeneres’ popular daytime talk show “Ellen” on Thursday, according to the New York Times. Especially following Clinton’s recent apology for her use of a personal email account for documents that are now (but were not then) classified, Clinton’s aides hope that her appearance on “Ellen” will show her in a more humorous, likeable way. According to the New York Times, “Ms. DeGeneres can be wacky and unpredictable with guests, but never mean-spirited, her executive producers said in interviews.” According to ABC News, 53 percent of Americans disapprove of Clinton. According to MSNBC, even Bernie Sanders has spoken out about criticism of Clinton: “I can’t think of many personalities who have been attacked for more reasons than Hillary Clinton…And by the way, let me be frank – and I’m running against her – some of it is sexist. I don’t know that a man would be treated the same way that Hillary is.”
