Education: Early Childhood Education

Early childhood education has become a hot topic in D.C. and in state governments recently, but studies are still being produced to prove the effectiveness of this form of education. A recent report published by the non-partisan New America Foundation shows that preschool programs should be integral components of the American education system. President Obama has already expressed great support for nationwide early childhood education programs, and the study only reaffirms the importance of focusing on federally funded programs that are as accessible as public schools. The NAF supports a new model of primary school that starts earlier; though some districts allow for pre-K as part of the public education system, the national standard is not set yet.
