Crossing A Line

President Obama acknowledged that torturing al Qaeda detainees after 9/11 was “crossing a line.” This has been his strongest comment on the controversial topic. Obama urges the U.S. to take responsibility for this wrongdoing so that it can be prevented in the future. The Senate Intelligence Committee has created a report that details the CIA’s interrogation and detention program after the 9/11 attacks, and it has been found that the harsh techniques did not disrupt future terrorist attacks. Due to outrage from the CIA, the report will not be released to the public until further notice.
