Nike’s online sales have jumped 70%, raising independent shares as much as 7%. Aiding the increase is Nike’s updated website, which gives customers the option to completely customize their shoes from the color of the bottom and top of the shoe to the shoelace pattern and customers can even add an inspirational quote. The website seems to be especially attractive to women as sales of women’s footwear are growing faster than that of men’s. Online sales of women’s shoes and apparel grew significantly, said CEO Mark Parker on a call with investors. Parker also credited Nike’s Nike Plus Training Club app for the growth, the app has been downloaded 17 million times.
