Business: Gender Inequality at Twitter

A recent report reveals that most workers at Twitter, one of the world’s largest social media websites, are white and male. This is similar to most tech companies—only 3 in 10 employees at Twitter are women, and 59% are white. The lack of diversity is even stronger the higher you look on the management team: 79% is male and 72% is white. Only 1 in 10 people who perform technology-specific work are women. The company is aware of this issue, and admitted that it has “a lot of work to do.”
