Things are going pretty well in the US economy. According to BBC News, “the DOW Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 rose 1% to close at record highs.” The Dow Jones Industrial Average is the average of the prices of 30 important stocks traded on the NY Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. The S&P 500 is the measure of market capitalizations of 500 companies’ stocks also traded on the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. What does this mean? The dollar is stronger, and worth more. One of the affects of a stronger dollar is oil prices, which affect many other things, including even the cost of food, will be lower.
