Laissa Christelle Alexis is a high school student at Saint Vincent Academy in Newark, New Jersey. She is involved in many school clubs and activities like her school Literary Magazine, book club, and more. She recently started a Girl Up club at her school and is having a lot of fun running it. She is part of the Newark Museum Science Explorer program for high school students and works at the Newark Museum. She enjoys singing in her church choir. In her free time, she loves to read, sew, and write on her blog called buildyourcastlesinthesky.wordpress.com. Laissa is very excited to be a GenHERation writer, she thinks that she will have a lot of fun with it. She loves to empower girls and is ready to take on the world.
Catherine de Lacoste-Azizi
Catherine de Lacoste-Azizi is a high school student the Agnes Irwin School. At school, she is on the service and repertory boards, is a member of the debate team and a cappella group, performs in her school musicals, and is especially involved with the Council for Advancement of Girls, an organization devoted to educating and empowering young women. GenHERation is a natural fit in her life as it embodies her values and the causes for which she stands. Catherine is incredibly excited to be a part of the GenHERation team and enjoys every minute she spends working to empower girls. Last summer, she worked as a GenHERation intern in the Philadelphia office.
Aishee Das is a junior at University High School in Irvine, California. She was born in India and has been connecting with her culture by dancing to Bharatnatym and Bollywood for 13 years. Including dance, she enjoys mentoring and tutoring younger students as well as taking part in her school’s Model United Nations. Ever since she entered high school, she wanted to create a community for girls to empower each other and saw a perfect fit with GenHERation.
Awaly is an International Baccalaureate junior at the Philadelphia High School for Girls in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is on the executive council for the junior class and service club representative for her school. She volunteers at an after school program at a local elementary school where she teaches musical theater to girls. Awaly believes that GenHERation is a possibility for young women to acquire knowledge of the corporate world and empower others as well. She is excited to become an ambassador and strives to empower young women in her high school and in the community.
Priyanka Dinakar is a senior at the Agnes Irwin School in Rosemont, PA. In school, she is involved in Model UN and Robotics and would like to pursue International Relations and Economics in the future. Priyanka is also heavily involved in singing Carnatic music, the classical music system of South India. Priyanka is very excited to represent GenHERation in her school because she is very passionate about promoting women in leadership positions in any field.
Dylan Gee is a senior from Los Angeles, California. She is the head of the Girl Up club at her school, plays soccer, is a photographer, and is the head of the GSA at her school. She is obsessed with sushi! She became a GenHERation Ambassador because gender equality is an issue she has always been passionate about and wants to help empower teenager girls.
Merry is a current high school sophomore at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur. Born and raised in West Chester, Pennsylvania, she is an active member of the Mock Trial, Hi-Q, Model UN, World Affairs, Varsity Mathletes, and Speech & Debate clubs in her school and tutors English to senior citizens on the weekends. In her free time, she is an avid painter, photographer, dancer, and piano player. Merry is extremely passionate about youth education, self-empowerment, and providing opportunities for ambitious young women. She is thrilled to be joining the GenHERation team as an ambassador!
Dana Kieft is a current Junior at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur. There she writes for the School Newspaper, works for the Yearbook, participates in Campus Ministry, and is a volleyball player. In her free time she participates in Walking the Walk, a program through the Interfaith Center of Greater Philadelphia that encourages understanding and friendship between faith groups. She also tutors elementary school students in math and reading. Dana is very exited to be a part of the genERation team because she sees the potential the organization has to make an incredibly positive impact of the lives of girls all across the country and possibly the world.
Brittany Levy is a high school student at Abington Senior High School, where she is the editor of the school newspaper, a Congressional Award gold medalist, a tennis player, a THON captain, a Class Council member, and a Spirit Club member. She is a zealous supporter of empowering women in the business world, and she plans to take any steps necessary to encourage high school girls to achieve their highest goals. Brittany is very excited to be a part of the GenHERation team!
Dominique Mosley is a junior at North Penn High School in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. She is a member of the North Penn girls’ varsity track team, women’s choir, student government association, and Science Olympiad team. Outside of school, Dominique engages with her community by participating in political and advocacy campaigns, along with regularly tutoring students at her church. She is most passionate about promoting education, and looks forward to helping young women while also being enriched herself through her work with GenHERation.
Katherine Salvatori is a junior at Pine View School in Osprey, Florida where she is a member of the National Honor Society, Speech and Debate PFD team, the president of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), and Where Everyone Belongs (WEB), and serves on Pine View’s Principal’s Cabinet. Through her career interests, she is an active participant in the International Council of Shopping Center’s (ICSC) events and programs. A Community Youth Development Star leader and ambassador, and a Circus Arts Conservatory board member, Katherine plans to use her connections and relationships in the community to promote GenHERation’s key initiatives. She is thrilled to represent this important female empowerment network. In her free time, Katherine enjoys dancing and is a member of the Sarasota Manatee Dance Alliance. She proudly invests her time with the American Cancer Society as team captain for Relay for Life.
Uswah Shabbir and is in 12th grade and goes to school in Los Angeles, California. Her extracurricular activities include Journalism, Model United Nations, and various volunteer work. She is so excited to be a GenHERation Ambassador because she thinks supporting women and entrepreneurship is very important and really looks forward to having an impact.
