World News: Hong Kong Protests

For the first time, China announced that it would allow the people of Hong Kong to elect their own leader.  However, a division of the Chinese government is screening the candidates, so Hong Kong is upset by the unreliable word of the Chinese. For the past month, protesters in Hong Kong are rallying against the Chinese government for failing on its promise to give them full democracy.  Yet, over this weekend, the protests became chaotic when over tens of thousands of protesters showed up and the riot police took out the tear gas.  This harsh police response was elevated by dozens of students being arrested.  The Chinese government deemed the protests illegal, but the protesters are not showing any signs of moving anytime soon.
