World News: China’s Fast Food Experiment

In China, you can be served pizza with mangoes and crayfish or a pork and seaweed flavored donut. By catering to local tastes, American fast food chains are hoping to increase their influence in foreign countries. McDonald’s serves soy milk and fried dough for breakfast and Dairy Queen offers wasabi ice cream, just to name a few. The CEO of Pizza Hut in Hong Kong revealed that it can take as long as 18 months to develop a new menu idea, especially since regional preferences vary.

The food in China sound great. I would love it if they brought it over here. It probably would not last long here. However, I know I would be first in line.
