Famed As: Founder of Teach for America
About: Wendy Kopp is the founder and CEO of Teach for America. She developed the concept during her senior year at Princeton University and it became her senior thesis. Following graduation Kopp continued working on the idea to make it reality. It has been almost two decades and Teach for America has continued to make positive changes in communities across the country, reaching more than 750,000 of the highest need students. Kopp is also the Chief Executive Officer of Teach for All, a program that is focused on developing methods similar to Teach for America in other countries. Kopp is the author of One Day, All Children: The Unlikely Triumph of Teach for America and What I Learned Along the Way. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
