Do you remember when the plasma TV was the coolest bit of technology to bring into your home? Just ten years ago, many people transitioned from the older, thicker cathode-ray tube televisions to the slimmer plasma TVs. As technology expands, as in any situation, old technology gets phased out. Samsung just announced that it will no longer be making flat-screen televisions (as of this November,) leaving only LG as the sole producer of the type of television. No need to fret, though – the end of plasma televisions only means that LCD televisions and OLED, or organic light emitting diode, televisions can take over the market.
