Technology: Apple Bans Chemicals

Two toxic chemicals, benzene and n-hexane have been banned from the manufacturing process of Apple computers and other products after years of controversy about the treatment of factory workers. Benzene is a carcinogen associated with leukemia, and large concentrations of n-hexane can develop nerve damage according to the CDC. The company’s restrictions have been updated to remove the unsafe chemicals and move toward green materials.
