Business: Pay with Lovin’ Campaign

Feeling affectionate? Get yourself to a McDonald’s now through Valentines day and you might get to pay for your meal with a hug. That’s right – in McDonald’s most recent marketing ploy, winners who are randomly selected at predetermined McDonald’s locations around the country, will be instructed by McDonald’s employees to pay for their meal with a “random act of Lovin’.”  The “Pay with Lovin’” promotion comes during a rough time for McDonald’s, its chief executive left this week amidst reports of slumping sales. The company expects about 1 million customers to benefit from the giveaway, said Terri Hickey, a McDonald’s spokeswoman. Each participating restaurant will have 100 deals with 55 being doled out during the first 2 days of the contest.
